Recycling bicycles is a big part of what we do here and forms the basis of the training program we offer to adults recovering from mental ill-health.

Learning how to strip and re-build bicycles can be therapeutic, teaches new technical skills and problem solving abilities and encourages a focus on attainable short term goals.

By its nature recycling bikes helps prevent waste by keeping usable bikes out of landfill, makes better use of finite raw materials so is better for the planet, gives the public a chance to buy local ethical bicycles at a reasonable price and provides a sustainable revenue stream for the charity. These are all things we like!

We accept donations of unwanted bikes from the public to feed into this project. Our qualified mechanics work together with trainees and volunteers to do the recycling and breathe new life into these bikes ready to be used again.

All our recycled bikes are stripped, cleaned and assessed before being completely rebuilt with new parts where required. They are fully serviced and receive a thorough PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) before being made available for sale to the general public.

We don’t sell our bikes online but if you check our Instagram feed you can get a good idea of what types of bike we have available, they’re an eclectic bunch and we try and keep a range of prices and types available at all times, with newly prepared stock hitting the shopfloor every week.

If you have an old bicycle that you want to donate we’d be very happy to receive it, just drop it by to the shop any time we’re open.

If you represent an organisation, company, charity or council and have abandoned bikes that need clearing then we can probably help with that too. Give us a call on 02034797003 and we’ll discuss how we can best help.
